last weekend

I had a pretty lovely weekend.

porkbone yawned, i gift-card shopped and admired the macy's lights for the first time this season, and had a great dinner at l'orange blue.  ive been wanting to go there since we moved into this apartment months ago.  one of the benefits of living in (this particular) 200 sq feet - soho is 3 blocks away.

i also went to a great new years party, but didnt take my camera out once.

NEW CAMERA

for christmas, my mom and i chipped in to get me a fabulous new camera.  here are a few of the pictures i am proud of so far.  i have about a dozen awful ones for each nice one.  thank goodness for Mastering the Nikon D3000 manual, which will hopefully increase my odds of usable pictures.

NEW LIPSTICK

i have had a little teeny tiny avon sample lipstick for ages, that i have been using on special occasions only since i (1) don't have an avon lady and (2) have worn off the part with the item number.  today i took my trusty sephora gift card and went on a hunt for something the same color.  lucky me found  the perfect perfect replacement: Tarte's LipSurgence in "lively".  it is guaranteed to increase lip moisture 600% in 28 days.  i'll let you know about that part... but for now,  it just makes my lips this lovely color:
